“The 2020 Chardonnay Drum Canyon Vineyard is impressive…this is another terrific example of how compelling Chardonnay can be in the Sta. Rita Hills.”

2020 Star Lane Cabernet Sauvignon
This dense explosive Cabernet is absolutely stunning. It is also an insane value in today’s world. -- 95 points, Antonio Galloni Vinous Sept 2023
Star Lane Rosé has our classic foundation of something akin to a wild strawberry with hints of spice and floral qualities that are so inviting.
The 2021 Drum Canyon Chardonnay shows excellent depth of flavor, lower alcohol levels, and higher acidity. We are very excited about the ability to promote energy with terrific depth and generosity,
2023 Star Lane Sauvignon Blanc
Tropical and stone fruits are the hallmarks of Star Lane Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Mineral and herb underly this year's vintage. We always find a verve and energy of freshness that carries through to the finish
As a complement to our estate Cab, this wine is essentially a Right-Bank expression of Bordelaise varietals in California.
Classic Cabernet Franc aromas and flavors of dark fruit, Garrigue, black tea and even a hint of anise. Star Lane Vineyard seems to have the advantage of cool climate and California sunshine which means that the fruit and beautiful dried herb aromas dominate without the wine ever leaning toward "green."
2019 Dierberg Happy Canyon Syrah
Happy Canyon Syrah is often quite savory, with spiced cured meat flavors dancing around the core of dark cherry fruit.
Aromas overall are dark-fruit oriented if also veiled with youth. The texture is full but tense, it is a wonderful show of the pleasant nature of supple wines.
A classy Chenin Blanc, the nose sings with Granny Smith apple, greengage, and a slight note of honey. The body is rich but balanced with bright acidity and a drive that carries the bright green apple character through.
From the upper portion of the Drum Canyon Vineyard, the 2019 Drum Canyon Vineyard Pinot Noir is a stunning wine that Jeb Dunnuck says is a “rich, structured and gorgeous Pinot Noir.” 94+ Points JD
The wine is built to last, with balance between grippy tannins and the levity brought by good acidity. It has more up front fruit than even we anticipated making it a unique and pleasurable offering this area.
Spiced black cherries, mulberries, leafy herbs, earth, and a touch of scorched earth nuances all emerge… another broad, layered, concentrated, and incredibly impressive Pinot Noir from this estate…

The Star Lane Vineyard Malbec is marked by lifted blue fruit and plum with subtle peppery aromas and flavors.
This year's Syrah shows how serious the wine can be from Happy Canyon and demonstrates a sophistication that is likely coming from a well developed vineyard. The wine should age for many years to come
This Merlot has a significant structure that will reward patience. The darker berry aromas and flavors come from the Cabernet Sauvignon and demonstrate the perfect contrast to the generous fruit of the Merlot.
The 2019 Star Lane Vineyard Malbec is marked by lifted blue fruit and plum with subtle peppery aromas and flavors. The finish is lengthy, with the blue fruit carrying through.
Rich, dense and expansive, this is another terrific example of how compelling Chardonnay can be in the Sta. Rita Hills. Tangerine oil, lemon confit, mint, honeysuckle and apricot… Antonio Galloni, Vinous 06/2022, 94 points
2018 Star Lane 'Astral' Cabernet Sauvignon
… straight-up pure class… makes the most of the vintage. Black cherries, cassis, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco are just some of the nuances, and it hits the palate with medium to full body, great tannins, and outstanding length.
